ETIQUETTE

The Principal areas to be aware of are:
Pace of Play
Care of the Course
Consideration of others

  1. Be on time. Arrive in good time, at least 15 minutes before your tee time.
  2. Be Ready to Play, you should be ready to play as soon as it's your turn to play. You should check yardages, select your club, and put your glove
    on whilst others are playing.
  3. Lost Ball, if you think your ball may be lost outside a water hazard, or may be out of bounds, to save time, play a provisional ball. Players searching for a
ball should signal the players in the group behind them to play through as soon as it becomes apparent that the ball will not easily be found. They should not search for 3 minutes before doing so.
  4. Let other golfers through when you are holding them up. It is a group's responsibility to keep up with the group in front. If they lose a clear hole and delay the group behind, they should invite the group behind to
play through, irrespective of the number of players in that group.
  5. Learn how to use that rangefinder/GPS device effectively and efficiently so that you don’t
hold up those playing alongside you and behind you.
  6. Learn how to repair a pitch mark
  7. Repair divots, ball-marks, and damage by shoes
  8. Rake bunkers and rake them properly
  9. Do not talk while someone is playing their shot
  10. Do not move while someone is playing their shot
  11. If in doubt, shout, have no excuse for not roaring ‘fore’ when a shot goes astray
  12. Cheating … just don’t!
